This past Sunday, the sudden cold front and freezing temperature led Food And The Word Outreach Ministry to move our blanket drive up to bring urgent relief to those in need in San Antonio.

One of the individuals we encountered was Isaiah, a 24-year-old who has been homeless for four months. Despite his struggles, he greeted us with gratitude and hope in his eyes. Then there was Mary, a 34-year-old woman who has been without a home for eight months. We also met James, a 48-year-old man who has been living on the streets for a year. Listening to there stories reminded us why we do what we do.
The joy on their faces as we handed out blankets, shoes and warm winter clothing was a reminder of how small gestures can make a big difference. These were more than just items—they were symbols of care, comfort, and humanity during a time of need.

This blanket drive wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our community, partners, and volunteers. A special thank you goes to Peace Keeper Martial Arts located at 8112 Tezel Rd, in San Antonio for collecting tons of blankets that helped bring warmth and comfort to so many. Your generosity allows us to bring light and hope to those facing life’s harshest challenges.
As we move forward, we invite you to join us in our mission. Whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading the word, every action matters. Together, we can make a difference—one blanket, one smile, one heart at a time.
Thank you for listening,
Sequina Moore
