This week, Food and the Word Outreach Ministry (FATWOM) joyfully celebrates three years of serving our community. What began on August 20, 2022, as a simple act of love has blossomed into a growing ministry that continues to feed, uplift, and bring hope to those in need.
How It All Began
Three years ago, on her birthday, our founder, Sequina Moore, made a decision that would change her life—and the lives of many others. Instead of a traditional birthday celebration, she chose to cook and deliver hot meals to the homeless in San Antonio. That single act of kindness sparked a movement that quickly grew into a ministry with a clear mission: to nourish the body and spirit while restoring dignity to those experiencing hardship.
Three Years of Impact
Since that day, FATWOM has provided thousands of meals, countless care packages, and a listening ear to those who need it most. We’ve expanded from monthly outreach to multiple feedings each week, offering consistency and compassion to our homeless neighbors and families facing food insecurity.
FATWOM provides meals twice a week, serving 250-300 individuals. Each meal shared is a reminder of God’s provision and the power of community when people come together in love and service.

Beyond the Meals
Our work is more than food. Over the years, FATWOM has grown into a hub of holistic outreach:
Nourish & Serve Initiative: providing hot meals and essential supplies.
Clothing Drives & Care Packages: ensuring warmth and dignity in every season.
Healthy Lifestyle & Gardening Programs: teaching life skills and promoting long-term wellness.
Prison Ministry & Community Care Events: extending hope beyond barriers
Every program is rooted in our belief that true transformation comes when physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met together.
A Heart of Gratitude
We could not have reached this milestone without the dedication of our volunteers, the generosity of our donors, and the grace of God guiding every step. Whether you’ve served meals, donated clothing, prayed for our ministry, or shared a kind word of encouragement—you are part of this story.
Looking Ahead
Three years is only the beginning. As we look toward the future, FATWOM is committed to expanding our reach, strengthening partnerships, and creating lasting solutions for food insecurity and homelessness in San Antonio. Our dream is to establish a permanent facility where we can serve even more families, host life-skills workshops, and continue building a stronger, healthier community.
