Food and the Word Outreach Ministry is a Christ-centered nonprofit organization serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness and food insecurity throughout San Antonio. Why We Serve
We believe every person is created in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. Whether someone needs a hot meal, a warm blanket, prayer, or simply someone willing to listen, we seek to reflect the love of Christ through every act of service.
Our Story
On her birthday in 2022, Founder and Executive Director Sequina Moore chose to celebrate by serving hot meals to individuals experiencing homelessness in downtown San Antonio. What began as one act of compassion became the foundation of a ministry devoted to serving others with dignity, consistency, and the love of Christ.

About Sequina Moore
Sequina Moore, MBA, is an author, minister, entrepreneur, and the Founder and Executive Director of Food and the Word Outreach Ministry. Born in Dallas, Texas, she began her walk with Christ at an early age and accepted her call to ministry in 2002. She earned her MBA from Northwood University and has spent more than two decades teaching and sharing the Word of God.
Sequina is the author of Food and the Word, a faith-centered book inspired by her passion for combining food with the Word of God to nourish both the physical and spiritual person. That same passion for faith, food, and service became the foundation for Food and the Word Outreach Ministry, which she founded in 2022 to serve individuals and families experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. What began with preparing and distributing meals has grown into a Christ-centered nonprofit providing consistent outreach, essential resources, compassionate care, and hope throughout the San Antonio community.
Sequina is also CEO of Food and the Word Network, creator and host of Kookin’ with Kina and Kina’s Korner, and co-host of the The Real Faith Talk Podcast

A devoted mother of four, Sequina’s mission is to encourage, empower, and inspire others to pursue their God-given purpose while using their gifts to make a difference in the lives of others.
